I always thought working in a bookstore would be like the movie "You've Got Mail" - helping kids find the books that would help shape the kind of person they would be. Then I started working in a Fox Books like store that rhymes with Narnes & Boble. These are all true stories that have happened to me or my fellow booksellers. Enjoy!

I love it when you are wearing your coat with your purse on your arm, your coffee in your hand and shopping bags in the other standing at the Timekeeping terminal to clock out and someone walks up and asks when the next Janet Evonavich is going to be out in paperback. It's my absolute favorite.
